The New Fashion

“Downloading Music Is Going Out of Fashion”

As technology is advancing, it is affecting numerous industries. One industry that got affected by new advancements was the music industry. At first, people used to buy records and play music, but as time went, they started buying cassette tapes, CD’s, and then started downloading music from the internet. Even though there are some people in the world who use record players or cassette players, the majority of the people follow what is the newest and most stylistic. Downloading music is how most people get the music they want, but as the title states, it is going out of fashion. People are becoming too lazy to download music and transferring to their phone, and other people are tired of spending huge amounts of money on music. The new fashion at the moment is streaming music, which can be done through apps such as Spotify or Pandora on all devices. It is technically free, and people can stream music wherever and whenever they want as long as they have mobile data (3G, 4G, or Wi-Fi). Although, by paying a small amount every month, people can listen and stream music with no ads and no interruptions, while also being able to download music to their phone to listen to at times when they do not have mobile data. As people started streaming music, Apple started losing business. Therefore, they are now working with the Beats streaming application in order to create a cheap, easy and effective application for the people. They hope that they will be back in business by doing so. It is important that the people read this, to understand what the fashion is at the moment, and to know the easiest and cheapest ways they can enjoy their lives listening to music.

  1. Music has become a large part of peoples’ entertainment. It was interesting to know Apple signed a contract with Beats, but what about Samsung. People may not purchase songs from iTunes, but that does not mean they purchase it from Google Play. It would have been better if you had mentioned the plans for both companies. However, it is amazing that people are able to create applications that allow others to listen to music without ads. At this rate, people will create an offline application that will allow others to listen to music with no ads without the need for mobile data, making it free for everyone.

  2. What an intriguing topic you chose to discuss Davit! Yes, times have changed, but you just have to adapt and go with the flow. Although I myself still download music, I will give you the benefit of the doubt that streaming is the new thing. Overall astonishing post once again Davit!

  3. This was a remarkable post, Davit! At times, I skim through people's blog posts, but I actually read this post and it was a thought-provoking topic. It is amazing how technology has advanced nowadays, but at times it may be better to maintain our traditional way of life. I think you could have expanded on the importance of the article more, but overall it was wonderful. Terrific job, Davitik!(:

  4. This was an amazing post because it is extremely relatable to all of us. I especially liked how you pointed out all the old ways of listening to music and then proceeded to speak about all the new advanced technology. Really good.

  5. Does anyone remember what happened to Blockbuster after Netflix and Redbox made it big in the movie renting industry? This article goes to show that newer, cheaper, and more accessible technology will always replace older or more expensive ones. Sooner or later people will be downloading video games, or movies for free (in a legal manner) without having to pay money. The people must have what they want, hopefully this advancement will be one for the better. Excellent work Davit!

  6. I agree with Gohar that you could have expanded on the article's importance, especially the technological aspects of it. It shows how the world and the way we experience art is evolving with the advancement of technology. Overall, your post covered the topic thoroughly, had no large mistakes, and was cleanly written.

  7. Although this was not what most would consider "news", in the sense where it does not speak of serious, current, political issues, the emphasized manner with which you pointed it out and presented it was quite thought provoking. People rarely stop to think about how technology is taking over our society, turning part of humanity into emotionless robots. However, I would have liked to have heard your opinion more throughout. Although I know it was not necessary, it may have allowed me to look at the situation in a different light.

  8. Great blog topic, Davit. I constantly listen to music while doing almost any task. I'm currently listening to streaming music on Pandora while writing your blog comment. It is so true, before I used to purchase a load of songs once a month, however, that started getting inconvenient. So much has changed since then, and it is now simpler to just stream music. I related to your topic. It was clearly written, however, next time you should add your opinion at the end to fully complete your thoughts on the current news. Other than that, Great Job!!

  9. Just the other day I was thinking about how barely anyone buys CD's anymore. It saddens me in a way, because I still love to buy CD's and I dislike downloading music for some reason. However, it is intriguing to see music technology advance through Pandora and etc. Technology will advance even more as the years pass by. I really enjoyed your article and I connected to it. Great Job!

  10. This blog post is very relatable Davit, you chose a very good topic. Although music-streaming apps/websites, such as Pandora, are very common and are more recommended by most people, I love buying and collecting CDs as well. In my opinion, the more technology advances, the more I want to try to keep old traditions or old methods alive, but that is just me !(: Anyway, very well written Davit!

  11. Being someone who enjoys listening to music I completely understand that the way music is being listened to has changed drastically. Your post managed to perfectly and simply explain the situation in the music streaming world. After reading your post I realized that you are right and I have drifted away from downloading music and have began to listen to music via apps on my smart phone.

  12. Davit, your post is quite intriguing indeed. It has a nice flow to it, transferring one thought to the next, all leading up to the main point. At first I thought the title of the original cited post was incorrect, but then I realized that it was I who was backwards. Instead of drifting away from downloading music and opting for streaming, I now prefer to have music downloaded directly on my computer (mostly due to the fact that the Wi-Fi signal almost never reaches my room). Nonetheless, I can see why streaming is becoming more and more prevalent. Keep up the amazing work, Davit!

  13. Interesting topic Davit! Definitely a topic most of us can relate to. Because of the launch of all the new illegal websites, people have stopped paying for their music. It is very rare to find someone who still buys CDs. Anyways, nicely written!
